Our guest speaker, retired Metropolitan Police Scenes of Crimes Officer, Chris Truran, gave us a glimpse into the criminal world, whilst giving us hints on how to protect ourselves. He believes that digital devices, like CCTV, help to keep us safe, and to catch criminals as quickly as possible. This he demonstrated with a sequence of images, including crucial footage from a member of the public which led to the arrest of Sarah Everard’s killer. We were reminded how easy it is for scammers to find out about us, that we need to be wary of providing personal information to websites, and to be aware that genuine companies rarely phone out of the blue.
